About the artist
Peter McDonald was born in Tokyo and lives and works in London. In 2003 he took part in East International, Norwich Gallery, UK; had a solo exhibition at Keith Talent Gallery, London and in New Zealand. In 2004 he exhibited his paintings at Kate MacGarry in London. He also had a solo exhibition at Gallery Side 2, Tokyo in 2005. Other exhibitions include: Like Color In Pictures at the Aspen Art Museum, Colorado, in 2007; a group show at the Hiroshima Museum of Contemporary Art in Japan, 2006. In 2008 Peter McDonald was the winner of the 25th John Moores Contemporary Painting Prize, the UK’s largest contemporary painting competition.
