Zoe Radford crops found advertising to create images that combine abstraction and figuration. Eliminating colour breaks down any residual optimism of advertising, within which the images were once rooted, and replaces it with a dark, dreamlike strangeness. Taking inspiration from cinema these prints take on qualities similar to those of film stills and their large scale emphasises their cinematic quality.
