The New Normal

Rabiya Choudhry (1982 - )

enamel, spray paint and acrylic on paper

2020
  • About the work
This work is reflective of the unusual times caused by the Covid-19 pandemic and is infused with Rabiya Choudry’s distinctive brand of deadpan dark Glaswegian humour. Two eyeballs are set against a bright red background. Instead of eyebrows, the artist has playfully placed black bold words that read: ‘THE NEW NORMAL’. This new work will feature in Choudry’s forthcoming exhibition Fabric of Society, part of the Glasgow International biennial festival of visual art (June 2021).
