About the artist
Kip Gresham was born in London, and studied at Cambridge. He studied printmaking at Newcastle University from 1969-73, and at Manchester Polytechnic from 1973-4. He subsequently taught printmaking at Manchester and Rochdale Colleges of Art. In 1975 he helped to found the Manchester Print Workshop, where he was co-director until 1982. In that year he moved back to Cambridge, and founded the Chilford Hall Press with Sam Alper, which had a focus on collaborative screenprinting methods and facilities. In 1989 it merged with Curwen Press to become Curwen Chilford Prints, combining screenprinting and lithography. He was the owner of The Print Studio, Cambridge, where he produced and published artists’ original prints. He exhibited widely, including at the Whitworth Art Gallery in Manchester.
