About the artist
Born in London, Brian Peacock studied at the Royal College of Art (1957 –60), awarded with the Silver Medal (1960) and the Prix de Rome (1961). He lectured at the Ravensbourne and Hornsey Art Schools in the early 1960s and then at Manchester College of Art up to 1967. He became principal lecturer at Sheffield Polytechnic in 1967, a post he held for many years. His work was shown in numerous group shows with ‘Young Contemporaries’, the John Moores Liverpool Exhibition, the Royal Academy and Arts Council. He later moved from Sheffield to the Cognac region of France.
