About the artist
Callum Innes was born in Edinburgh, where he still lives and works. He studied at Gray’s School of Art in Aberdeen, and at Edinburgh College of Art from 1984 to 1985. Innes has had solo exhibitions at Tate St Ives; Irish Museum of Modern Art, Dublin; the Ikon Gallery, Birmingham, and Kunsthalle Bern, Switzerland. He was nominated for the Turner Prize in 1995 and was awarded the Jerwood Painting Prize in 2002. His paintings are included in public collections worldwide, including the Guggenheim Collection, New York; San Francisco Museum of Modern Art; Arts Council of England; British Council, London; Contemporary Arts Museum, Houston; Irish Museum of Modern Art, Dublin; Kunsthaus Zurich; and the Tate Collection, London.
