Jadé Fadojutimi’s energetic large-scale rhythmic and emotive paintings shift between abstraction and figuration. Art critic Jennifer Higgie describes Fadojutimi’s handling of paint as ‘...replete with possibility as newly composted earth'. Her paintings derive their shapes, colours and patterns from clothing, anime, video games, soundtracks, childhood obsessions, memories and objects. This work exudes a sense of fervour and hopefulness, indicated in both the title and bright palette of the work. Created during a time of global turbulence, the vivid, explosive marks invoke a sense of revolution, both in the moment we are living and within the language of painting.
