About the artist
John Brunsdon went to Cheltenham College of Art (1949-53) and then the Royal College of Art, London, (1955–58), where he studied printmaking with Julian Trevelyan. He later became Head of Printmaking at St Alban's School of Art. He is a member of the Printmakers Council and author of The Technique of Etching and Engraving (1965). He exhibited at a number of galleries in the 1960s and 1970s. Later commissions include A Celebration of Shakespearean Properties for the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust in Stratford-upon-Avon in 1990. His work is represented in public collections including the Arts Council; the British Council, and the Victoria & Albert Museum, London.
