Godfried Donkor was born in Kumasi, Ghana, and now lives in London. He received a BA in Fine
Art from Central Saint Martins in 1989, and an MA in African art history from the University of
London in 1995. His work has been shown in major biennials such as Dak’Art (1998 and 2018),
and the Venice Biennale. His artwork is held in public collections including the Smithsonian
National Museum of African Art, Washington DC; the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam; and the
Studio Museum in Harlem.
