Simon Ling was born in Bradford, Yorkshire. He studied at Carmarthen College of Art before going on to Chelsea College of Art (1988-91) and Slade School of Art (1993) in London where he currently lives and works. Solo exhibitions of his work have been held at Towner Art Gallery, Eastbourne (2018); Kunsthalle, Bergen, Norway (2017) and by his gallery Greengrassi a number of times over the past two decades. Group exhibitions with his work have been held at venues including Minnesota Street Project, San Francisco, US (2024); Le Consortium, Dijon, France (2023); Blanc Art Group, Beijing, China (2022); Contemporary Arts Society, London (2021); Camden Arts Centre, London and the Lewinsky Art Gallery, Plymouth (both 2022); the Hong Kong Museum of Art; Guildhall Art Gallery, London and Leeds Art Gallery (all 2019).
