Sophy Rickett was born in London in 1970 and graduated from the Royal College of Art with an MA in Fine Art Photography in 1993. She has exhibited her work with the Emily Tsingou gallery in London since 1999. Rickett spent four months undertaking a Fellowship at Dundee Contemporary Arts in 2000. In 2001 she had a solo exhibition in Renn in France and in 2003 a solo show in Geneva, Switzerland. Her work is included in numerous public collections, including the Victoria & Albert Museum, London; Musée des Beaux Arts, Nantes and the Pompidou Centre, Paris. She is currently Reader in Photography at the University of Derby and lives and works in London.
